Württemberg “Eigentums Helm” (Private Purchase) Pickelhaube.
This is a pre-war model and post-1891 due to the chinscale mount (M91 lugs) worn by Fähnrich (Officer-Candidate) with officer Kokarden.
Fähnrich were the only non-commissioned soldiers authorized to wear officer Kokarden, but only after passing the officer’s examination.
‘119’ handwritten on the helmet’s owner’s small label inside the liner seems to read: “119” and there’s a “g” at the beginning of whatever is handwritten in red (probably the helmet’s owner’s name). This could indicate Grenadier-Regiment Königin Olga (1. Württembergisches) Nr. 119 Size: handwritten inside the helmet (55 or 56?).
The helmet and liner is in great condition.
